How do I get in touch?
Submit an enquiry or email me at hello@talkwithkatie.co.uk to book a free 20 minute Welcome Call. It's an informal chat - a chance to get to know me and explore if counselling is right for you.
Where do we meet?
I offer online/telephone counselling sessions to give you flexibility - though many clients join me for face to face sessions in Chorley Town Centre, Lancs.
And the cost?
Counselling sessions are £50 per 50 minute session, and are available online, by telephone, or face to face in Chorley, Lancs.
What is counselling?
Counselling is a safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. It is entirely up to you what you bring to discuss in sessions, and I aim to listen non-judgementally and work alongside you, helping you explore and understand yourself. Through having the right conditions to talk and feel truly heard, many clients gain a new sense of trust in themselves, and feel empowered and ready to make positive change.
Can you give me advice?
I truly believe that YOU know your own life and story better than anyone, so YOU are best placed to know the right way forward. This follows the person-centred theory and philosophy, so I don't offer advice or suggestions on your life. I might sometimes suggest theories or techniques to manage your wellbeing, but you are in charge of whether and how we use these in our sessions. I hope that within our sessions, rather than depending on me for advice, you build confidence and trust in your own perspective and instinct, helping you to make the right changes for you.
How many sessions will I need?
It can be easy to feel eager for change, but this can be a very complex question. This can depend on the complexity of your challenges, how long they have gone on for, how frequently you'd like to meet, how easy you find it to share and talk about things, and how much change you feel ready for. In our first session, we will explore your expectations and goals, and then we will regularly review how things are progressing for you, in a way that works for you.

Many guidelines suggest you could see significant changes to your life with around 6 sessions, and attending 10 sessions often leads to longer-term sustainability of change. That being said, every person is different and I encourage you to be open minded when attending.
How do I know if this is working for me?
It is normal to doubt or feel confused when starting therapy, and we can feel keen to see results. If you have any doubts, please do let me know!
We can use reviews to track any changes more closely, and explore your worries together. I can also help you explore alternative options for support in case something else feels right for you.
